  • 2 c. raw peanuts
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. Karo syrup
  • 1 c. whipping cream
  • 2 heaping Tbsp. oleo
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. red food coloring

Directions

    Combine first 5 ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Stir constantly while cooking. Cook until they reach the firm ball stage on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and add the vanilla and food coloring.

    Beat with a wooden spoon until it loses its glossy appearance.

    Immediately spoon onto wax paper.
