- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. roasted peanuts
- 9-inch unbaked pie shell
Directions

1Combine sugar, corn syrup, shortening and salt.

2Bring to a boil over low heat.

3Pour this hot syrup slowly over eggs, stirring constantly.

4Cool.

5Add vanilla and peanuts.

6Pour into an unbaked pie shell.

7Bake at 400° for 10 minutes.

8Reduce temperature to 375°; bake 35 to 40 minutes longer.
