  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 c. chopped fresh pecans
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Cream margarine and sugar.

    Add eggs, beating well.

    Mix in buttermilk, then flour and other dry ingredients.

    Fold in pears and vanilla.

    Pour batter into four greased 5 x 3-inch loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until done.
