  • 1 1/4 c. Crisco oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. grated fresh pears, drained
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda

    Mix sugar and oil.

    Beat in eggs, one at a time.

    Add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add a third at a time to other mixture. Mix nuts with last third of flour.

    Add to mixture.

    Add grated and drained pears to mixture.

    Bake at 350° until toothpick comes out clean.

    Bake in tube pan for about 55 minutes.
