- 2 medium ripe pears, cored and sliced
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar, packed
- 1 Tbsp. dark rum
- 1/4 c. dried tart cherries, cranberries or raisins
- 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter, cut in small pieces
Directions

1In 1 1/2-quart ovenproof bowl, toss pears with rum and dried fruit.

3In separate bowl, combine flour and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly.

4Sprinkle over pears, tossing gently to mix.

5Bake until crumbs are browned and pears are tender, about 30 minutes.

6Spoon into serving bowl, top with flavored or plain whipped cream, if desired.
