  • 4 lb. fresh pears, peeled and sliced
  • 6 c. sugar
  • 1/2 sliced lemon
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. liquid pectin (optional)*

Directions

    In a large, heavy pot, combine pears, sugar, water and lemon. Bring to a boil.

    Lower heat.

    Cover and cook until thickened, stirring occasionally.

    Makes about 8 pints.
