- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 2 c. warm water, divided
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. whole wheat flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1 cup warm water.

2In a large bowl, combine flours, salt and sugar.

3Add the yeast mixture and remaining water; stir until combined.

4Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.

5Stir dough down.

6Divide in half. Place each half in a greased 1-quart casserole or ovenproof bowl. Brush tops with butter or margarine.

7Let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes.

8Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Remove from pans; serve warm, if desired.
