  • 3 c. sifted enriched flour
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 4 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg, well beaten

Directions

    Sift flour.

    Take out 1 tablespoon flour to dredge pecans. Add salt, baking soda and sugar.

    Sift again; beat eggs and add to dry ingredients.

    Add milk gradually.

    Add shortening or butter. Add nuts.

    Bake in well-greased pan at 350° for 1 hour or until well done.
