Pecan Candy

Ingredients

  • 2 cans evaporated milk
  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. pure vanilla extract

Directions

    Pour evaporated milk into a pot.

    Add butter or margarine and sugar.

    Bring to a boil, then add vanilla extract.

    Cook at a low heat

    for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring constantly.

    As candy begins to harden, gradually pour in pecans. (Candy may be tested by dropping drops of the mixture into a cup of tap water, if candy hardens, it is cooled.)

    Pour candy on a greased cookie sheet.
