- 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine, softened
- 2 12 cups confectioners' sugar, divided
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 12 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 18 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups pecans or 2 cups walnuts, finely chopped
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350F

2Beat butter in a large bowl with electric mixer, on med.

3speed, until light and fluffy.

4Add 1/2 cup of the sugar, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt.

5Beat until well blended.

6Stir in flour and pecans.

7Shape into 1-inch balls.

8Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets.

9Bake 15 minutes

10Remove from baking sheets, and immediately roll in remaining 2 cups sugar.

11Place sugared cookies on wire racks to cool.

12When cool, roll again in sugar.

13Makes 4 dozen.
