  • 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix all ingredients together.

    Cut with pastry blender until mixture is blended.

    Round up in 2 balls.

    Roll very thin on cloth covered pastry board.

    Brush each half with unbeaten egg white. Top with chopped pecans.

    Cut into squares.

    Place on greased cookie sheet; bake at 375° for 9 to 10 minutes.
