  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. dark corn syrup (Karo)
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/4 c. pecan meats, chopped

Directions

    Cook sugar and syrup until mixture thickens (cook just a little more than soft ball stage on a candy thermometer).

    Beat eggs without separating and slowly add eggs to hot syrup, beating constantly.

    Add butter, vanilla and nuts.

    Pour into unbaked pie shell; bake at 450° for 10 minutes.

    Reduce heat to 300° and bake for 35 minutes.
