- 1 lb. light brown sugar
- 3/4 c. water
- 1/4 c. soft butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- pecan halves
Directions

1Line 9-inch pie plate (glass) with pastry.

2Beat eggs in bowl until frothy; set aside.

3Combine sugar and water in 2-quart heavy saucepan.

4Place over moderate heat until sugar dissolves.

5Bring to a full boil and cook for 3 minutes.

6Gradually stir hot mixture into eggs; blend in butter and vanilla.

7Turn into pie plate. Arrange pecans on pie.

8Bake in preheated 325° oven for about 1 hour.
