- One large unbaked crust.
- 3 extra large eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 cup dark Karo syrup
- 1 tablespoon mable syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup pecan meats, broken into pieces

1Mix, adding nutmeats last. Pour into unbaked crust.

2(For tarts, it takes about a soup ladle full to fill. Filling does not expand much so you can fill almost to the top.)

3Heat oven to 450 degrees. Pie takes about 45 minutes to bake. Cook it until the center doesn't jiggle when you move the pie. It is basically a custard filling. You have to watch the crust that it doesn't burn, becuase this crust has sugar in it and it browns quickly. Tarts will cook somewhat faster than the pie...probably in about 30 minutes.
