  • 1 pie shell
  • 1/2 c. pecan halves
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 c. dark syrup
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Directions

    Combine chopped pecans, butter, vanilla, sugar, eggs and syrup.

    Pour into pie shell; bake at 450° for 10 minutes.

    Arrange pecan halves on top of pie filling.

    Reduce heat; bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.

    Bake slowly.
