Pecan Pie Bars

- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 5 eggs
- 1 c. dark corn syrup
- 3/4 c. granulated sugar
- dash of salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. broken pecans
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and brown sugar.

3Cut in butter and margarine with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

4Press crumb mixture into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

5Bake for 10 minutes or until golden.

6While crust is baking, combine eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, salt and vanilla; blend well.

7Stir in pecans. Pour filling over hot crust.

8Reduce oven temperature to 275°. Bake about 50 minutes or until center is set.

9Cool in pan on a wire rack before cutting into bars.

10Makes 16 bars.
