Ingredients

  • 3 c. Gold Medal flour
  • 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 c. margarine or butter, softened
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. Karo corn syrup (light or dark)
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Heat oven to 350°.

    Grease jelly roll pan.

    Beat the first 4 ingredients in large bowl on medium speed until crumbly.

    Press into jelly roll pan and bake 20 minutes until light golden brown. Mix remaining ingredients except pecans until well blended.

    Stir in pecans.

    Pour over crust.

    Bake another 25 minutes and then cut into squares.
