  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 3/4 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.

    Blend in flour and vanilla.

    Add pecans and mix.

    If mixture is too stiff, add a tablespoon of water.

    Shape into 3/4 to 1-inch balls.

    Place on cookie sheet.

    Bake 10 minutes or until light brown at 350°.

    Cool 5 minutes.

    Roll in additional powdered sugar while still warm.
