  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
  • sugar

Directions

    Cream butter and shortening; gradually add 1 cup sugar and cream again.

    Mix dry ingredients.

    Gradually add to creamed mixture.

    Stir in nuts.

    Shape into 1-inch balls.

    Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.

    Flatten balls to 1/3 inch with glass dipped in sugar.

    Bake in 350° oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Bake just until edges start to brown, no longer.
