- 1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1 Tbsp. margarine, melted
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
Directions

1Blend cream cheese and 1/2 cup butter.

2Stir in flour and chill 1 hour.

3Heat oven to 325°.

4Roll dough into 24 (1-inch) balls and press into 1 1/2-inch muffin tins.

5Beat egg, brown sugar, 1 tablespoon butter, vanilla and salt together.

6Sprinkle 1/2 cup pecans on dough in tins.

7Add egg mixture and sprinkle with remaining nuts.

8Bake at 325° about 25 minutes or until set.

9Cool in pans.

10Makes 24 tarts.
