- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 3 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1Place all ingredients except eggs in bowl.

2Mix for 3 to 5 minutes by hand.

3When ingredients begin to make a mass, add egg and mix to smooth dough.

4Divide into 2 pieces and shape into 2 rolls that are 1 1/2 inches in diameter.

5Roll in wax paper and chill overnight.

6Slice 1/8-inch thin and place on lightly greased pan.

7Bake at 350° for about 12 minutes.

8Cookies become crispy when cooling.
