- 5 c. self rising flour
- 1 c. shortening
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 c. buttermilk (may use reg. milk and 1 tsp. vinegar)
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. warm water
Directions

1Mix soda, sugar and flour.

2Dissolve yeast in warm water.

3Mix all ingredients in warm water together and put on floured board and work adding a little flour until it can be handled.

4Pinch off biscuits or roll and cut biscuits, as many as desired.

5Put remainder into covered container and keep in refrigerator. Use as needed.

6Will keep several days.
