- 12 cloves Garlic, Peeled
- 3 cups Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 jars Newman's Own Marinara (23.5 Oz Jars)
- 1- 1/2 Tablespoon Dried Basil
- 1- 1/2 Tablespoon Dried Oregano
- 1- 1/2 Tablespoon Dried Parsley
- 1 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Pepper
- 1 pound Spicy Italian Sausage Links Or Ground Suasage
- 2 boxes Penne Pasta (1 Pound Boxes)
- 2 pounds Grilled Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts (optional For Serving)
- 1 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
Directions

1Mince your garlic, grate on a fine microplane or grind in a food processor.

2The garlic needs to be very small, almost paste-like.

3Set aside.

4Heat the olive oil over medium-low heat in a large pot.

5Add the garlic and cook for 5-10 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.

6Watch the garlic carefully, if it burns you have to start over.

7Add the marinara sauce, basil, oregano, parsley, and crushed red pepper flakes.

8Stir to combine.

9The sauce will seem very oily but this is what you want.

10Add salt and pepper.

11If using suasage links cut each link into 1/2 inch pieces.

12If you are using ground sausage, roll the meat into tiny 1/2 inch balls.

13Drop the suasage into the sauce and simmer for at least 3 hours, stirring occationally.

14The longer this cooks the better.

15When ready to eat boil penne according to package directions.

16To serve: Plate the penne and ladle on the sauce, top with Parmesan cheese and a grilled chicken breast if desired.
