  • 1 1/2 lb. boneless beef round steak, cut in strips
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 1 medium green pepper, cut in strips
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 6 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • hot cooked rice

Directions

    Brown meat in oil; add garlic, tomatoes and 1 cup water. Cover and simmer 45 minutes.

    Add pepper, onion and celery; cover and cook 15 minutes.

    Combine cornstarch and 1/4 cup water.

    Stir into mixture.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Serve over rice.
