- 2 lb. boneless chuck steak
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 2 medium green peppers
- 2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 tomatoes
- soy sauce to taste
- white pepper to taste
Directions

1Cut meat into thin strips.

2In large skillet, heat shortening and brown meat, turning often.

3Stir in onion soup mix and 2 cups water.

4Cover.

5Simmer 30 minutes.

6Add peppers.

7Simmer, covered, 10 minutes or until meat is tender.

8Blend cornstarch with 1/2 cup water.

9Stir into skillet.
-
10Cook, while stirring, until thickened. Stir in soy sauce and white pepper.

11Serve with rice.

12Makes 6 to 8 servings.
