- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 lb. steak (round or flank)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. minced onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 green peppers, minced
- 1 c. canned beef bouillon
- 1 c. drained, canned tomatoes or 3 tomatoes, quartered
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 tsp. soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 c. water
- rice
Directions

1Melt shortening in skillet.

2Cut meat into 1-inch strips; sprinkle with salt and pepper.

3Fry meat, onion and garlic until brown.

4Add peppers and bouillon; cover and cook 30 minutes.

5Add tomatoes; simmer 5 minutes.

6Combine cornstarch, soy sauce and water.

7Add to meat mixture and cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

8Serve over cooked rice.
