- 2 lb. beef (round or sirloin tip), cut into 2 x 1/4-inch strips
- 1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
- 1/2 c. onion, chopped
- 2 green peppers, cut into strips
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. water
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- sprinkle of garlic powder
Directions

1Add beef to melted butter in a skillet, sprinkle with garlic powder and cook, stirring slightly, until browned.

2Remove meat; add onion and green pepper.

3Saute for 2 minutes.

4Return meat to skillet along with tomatoes and bouillon cube, simmer about 5 minutes.

5Blend together cornstarch, water, soy sauce, sugar and salt.

6Stir into meat mixture and cook just until thickened.

7Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
