  • 1 lb. stew beef, cut into bite size pieces
  • 2 Tbsp. oleo
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, halved
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
  • 1 large green pepper, cut in strips
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper

Directions

    Brown meat slowly in butter.

    Add onion and garlic last few minutes.

    Season with salt and pepper.

    Dissolve bouillon cube in hot water.

    Add to meat.

    Cover and simmer until almost tender. Add tomatoes and green pepper; cook 10 minutes.

    Now combine cornstarch, cold water and soy sauce.

    Stir into meat, bring to a boil and stir for 5 minutes.

    Remove garlic.

    Serve this over rice or noodles.
