- 3 egg whites (at room temperature)
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2Place egg whites in mixing bowl (don't use plastic).

3Add cream of tartar.

4Beat at low speed until foamy.

5Add sugar, a little at a time, beating at medium high speed until soft peaks form.

6Spoon mounds of meringue around outer edge of pie filling.

7Spread carefully around edge, being certain that meringue touches inner edge of crust.

8Spoon remaining meringue over center of filling; spread to border.

9Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until peaks are golden brown.

10Cool pie on wire rack.
