Ingredients
- 4 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 3/4 c. vegetable shortening (room temperature)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vinegar
Directions

1In large bowl, mix well flour, sugar and salt with fork; add shortening.

2Mix well until crumbly.

3In small bowl, mix water, vinegar and egg; beat.

4Add to flour mixture, stirring until moistened.

5Divide dough into 5 sections.

6Shape each into flat circle.

7Wrap each in plastic wrap or waxed paper.

8Chill for 30 minutes.

9Lightly flour each side of patty, then roll out on lightly floured surface.

10For baked pie shell, place in pie plate; prick bottom and sides.

11Bake in preheated 450° oven for 10 to 15 minutes.

12Makes 5 (9-inch) shells.
