Ingredients
- 1 generous c. persimmons (3 medium size)
- 1 c. walnuts, chopped
- 1 c. raisins
- 1 c. sugar (less may be used, if desired)
- 1 cube butter or margarine
- salt to taste
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. each: cinnamon, ground cloves and nutmeg
Directions

1Dissolve soda in persimmon pulp.

2Cream together the shortening and sugar.

3Add raisins to flour.

4Add egg to persimmon pulp.

5Add dry and moist ingredients alternately into persimmon pulp.

6Mix well.

7Drop by spoonful onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 350° for approximately 20 minutes.

8Makes approximately 5 dozen cookies.
