- 2 c. fresh basil leaves, firmly packed
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1/2 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 Tbsp. softened butter
- 1/2 c. olive oil
- freshly ground pepper to taste
Directions

1In a mortar and pestle, or in food processor, mash together the pine nuts, basil and garlic.

2Add cheese and butter; blend. Dribble in the olive oil, mixing until you have achieved a paste. Add pepper.
