- 1 yeast cake, dissolved in 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 c. flour (approximately)
Directions

1Melt shortening and sugar in boiling water.

2Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast mixture.

3Add salt and beaten egg; then enough flour to make stiff.

4Store in refrigerator until about 2 hours before baking time.

5Roll out, cut and let rise until double.

6Bake at 450°.
