"Philly" Pound Cake

  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese *
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. sifted cake flour **
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • powdered sugar

Directions

    Thoroughly blend margarine, cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually add flour (sifted with baking powder).

    Pour into waxed paper lined 9 x 5-inch pan.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until done.

    Let stand for 5 minutes; turn out of pan to cool.

    Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
