Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/3 c. vinegar
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 2 c. sliced, cooked beets (can be canned beets)
  • 1 sliced medium onion (optional, but adds to flavor)

Directions

    Combine water, vinegar, sugar, cinnamon, salt and cloves. Heat to boiling.

    Add beets and onion.

    Cover pan and simmer for 5 minutes.

    Chill.

    Makes 1 pint.
