- 1 head cabbage
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 c. water
- 1 c. vinegar
- 6 peppercorns
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
Directions

1Bake cabbage for 1 hour.

2Remove the charred outer leaves. Cut the cabbage into 1-inch wedges with the core attached. Simmer the water, vinegar and spices for 5 minutes.

3Pour over the cabbage in a jar and seal.

4Keep refrigerated.
