- 16 lb. apples
- 10 c. vinegar
- 8 c. water
- 16 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. whole cloves
- 9 sticks cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp. ground ginger
Directions

1Wash and remove blossom ends and prick.

2Bring vinegar, water, sugar, ginger, cinnamon and cloves (cinnamon and cloves tied in a bag) to a boil and add apples, a little at a time.

3Remove before adding next batch.

4Pour syrup over apples; let stand overnight. Remove bag of spices.

5Pack apples in hot jars.

6Bring syrup to a boil.

7Pour over fruit.

8Process 30 minutes.

9Makes 16 to 20 pints.
