  • 2 lb. tender fresh okra
  • 5 pods hot red or green peppers
  • 5 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 qt. white vinegar
  • 6 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed or mustard seed (optional)

Directions

    Wash okra and pack in 5 hot, sterilized pint jars.

    Put 1 pepper and 1 garlic clove in each jar.

    Bring remaining ingredients to boil.

    Pour over okra and seal.

    Process in hot water bath for 10 minutes.
  6. 6
    Makes 5 pints.
