- 3 qt. pickling onions
- 2/3 c. salt
- 1 1/3 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. yellow mustard seed
- 2 Tbsp. prepared horseradish
- 1 1/2 qt. distilled white vinegar
- dried hot peppers
- bay leaf
Directions

1Place onions in large saucepan; cover with water.

2Bring to boiling and simmer 2 minutes; drain.

3Plunge into cold water and peel.

4Put onions in large bowl; sprinkle with salt.

5Cover with cold water.

6Let stand for 12 to 18 hours; drain and rinse well.
