Pickled Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. frozen, raw, peeled, cleaned shrimp
  • 2 qt. boiling water
  • 1 1/2 tsp. celery salt
  • 1 1/2 c. salad oil
  • 1 c. sliced onions
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery leaves
  • 1/4 c. whole mixed pickling spice
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. white vinegar

    Thaw shrimp.

    Rinse with cold water.

    Place in boiling water and simmer about 10 minutes.

    Drain and arrange onions and shrimp in alternate layers.

    Simmer for 3 minutes.

    Add rest of ingredients.

    Cover and chill about 6 hours, stirring occasionally.

    Drain and serve on green salad.
