  • small whole cucumbers
  • green tomatoes, cut crosswise in fourths
  • cauliflower, cut in small portions
  • cabbage, cut in wedges
  • 2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. mustard seed
  • 2 gloves garlic
  • hot peppers (optional)
  • vinegar
  • water

Directions

    Fill sterilized jars with any of the listed vegetables or a combination of any.

    Add the salt, mustard seed and garlic.

    If you like them hot, add 1 hot pepper to each quart.

    Fill jars half full of vinegar.

    Add water to cover vegetables.

    Seal jars; shake to mix.

    Store in cool place.

    Will be ready in 2 weeks.
