- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. vegetable shortening or lard
- 1/2 c. ice water
Directions

1Mix flour and salt.

2Add shortening or lard in small pieces and use fork or pastry blender to make uniform crumbs.

3Add water, a tablespoon at a time, and mix until mixture forms a rough mass. Wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before rolling out.

4I use lard for fruit pies and shortening for cream pies.

5Makes one double-crust pie.

6Serves 8.
