- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- water (as needed)
Directions

1If you use self-rising flour, leave the salt and soda out, but if plain flour, add salt and soda to flour and mix well.

2Add shortening to flour; cut in shortening with knife or fork.

3(I use my hand; it is faster.)

4When you get the shortening and flour like meal, you then add water (cold, if plain flour; hot, if self-rising).

5Add water to get it to your desired stiffness.

6Use all the flour you need to knead it to where you can cut them out or roll it out.

7Put dough in refrigerator and chill.

8It rolls out better.
