Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beef, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/3 c. bagoong
  • 1/2 c. sliced tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 slice ginger (1/4 x 1-inch), crushed
  • 1 pkg. frozen okra (10 oz.)
  • 1/4 tsp. m.s.g.
  • 1 big eggplant, sliced 1-inch thick
  • 1 medium size bitter-melon (fresh or canned), sliced 1-inch thick

Directions

    Combine all ingredients except eggplant, bitter-melon and okra.

    Bring to a boil.

    Lower heat and simmer, covered, until beef is tender.

    Add eggplant, bitter-melon and okra; cook for 15 minutes.

    If using canned bitter-melon, add last 3 minutes of cooking.
