Pineapple Pound Cake

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cream the shortening, margarine and sugar until fluffy.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.

    Add dry ingredients, one tablespoon at a time, alternating with milk. Add vanilla and fold in pineapple.

    Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Put into a cold oven. Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours. Cool cake for 10 minutes and remove from pan. Frost with Pineapple Icing.
