- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 2 3/4 c. sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 c. undrained crushed pineapple and juice
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
- 1 c. pineapple, drained
Directions

1Cream shortening, butter and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.

3Sift flour with baking powder.

4Add to creamed mixture, one spoonful at a time alternately with milk.

5Add vanilla; stir in crushed pineapple and juice and blend well.

6Pour into well-greased 10-inch tube pan. Place in cold oven.

7Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.

8Let stand in pan 10 minutes and run knife around edge to remove to rack. Combine butter, powdered sugar and 1 cup drained pineapple.

9Pour over cake while hot.
