Pineapple Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 large can crushed pineapple
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 heaping Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/3 c. vinegar
  • pinch of salt
  • marshmallows (small)
  • cheese

Directions

    Mix sugar, flour and salt.

    Add vinegar and pineapple juice which has been pressed and drained from pineapple.

    Beat egg yolks and add.
  4. 4
    Cook until thick like salad dressing; stir continually. Let partly cool.

    Fold in beaten egg whites.

    Grate cheese.

    Layer cheese, layer dressing, layer marshmallows and layer pineapple. Do this until all is used.

    May top with cheese.

    Good topped with whipped cream when ready to serve.
