- 1/2 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 1 (8 oz.) can sliced pineapple
- 1/4 c. chopped nuts
- 1 (8 1/2 to 9 oz.) pkg. yellow cake mix

1Place butter in an 8-inch round glass baking dish.

3Stir in brown sugar; spread evenly in dish.

4Drain pineapple, reserving juice.

5Arrange pineapple slices over sugar-butter mixture.

6Sprinkle chopped nuts over pineapple slices.

7Prepare cake mix according to package directions, using the pineapple juice for the liquid.
