- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 c. cold water
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 5 pineapple slices
- 5 maraschino cherries
Directions

1Cream shortening, add sugar.

2Mix well.

3Add eggs, beat well. Sift flour, mix water with vanilla.

4Add alternately with flour until well blended.

5Melt butter in large skillet, with brown sugar until sugar is melted.

6Arrange pineapple slices adding cherries in center.

7Spread batter over pineapple.

8Bake at 350° to 375° for 40 to 45 minutes.
