Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. butter or shortening
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 can pineapple
- cherries
Directions

1Mix together until smooth.

2Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in cake pan.

3Sprinkle brown sugar over butter (just enough to cover the bottom lightly).

4Place pineapple in bottom of pan and place the cherries in the middle.

5Pour batter over pineapple.

6Bake 40 minutes at 400°.
